This excursion lasts a full day. Riverstone is about 55 kms away from Kandy and is is about 1,863 meters above the sea level. Few kilometres of rudimentary roads take longer to reach the starting points. There are four different trekking routes in Riverston.

Riverston belongs to Knuckles mountain range. Knuckles mountain range and its physical shape is like knuckles of a fist.
