About Us:

Cross Country Travels Sri Lanka has a rich history that began in 1979, before becoming the well-established venture it is today. In the absence of an official helpdesk at Bandaranaike International Airport, curious travelers turned to Amare, then an airport authority officer fluent in English. His expertise and guidance soon led him to leave his official role to become a certified chauffeur and guide. By 2006, Amare managed a fleet of forty vehicles at the airport.

Amare’s elder son, Anuradha, initially handled the less glamorous tasks of washing cars and assisting drivers before becoming a guide himself. After moving to Japan in 2002 to study the language, Anuradha's journey took him across many countries. He earned a bachelor degree in the UK and a master’s degree in Denmark. His brother Asanga, with a background in hotel management, further enriched the company with his extensive knowledge.

Milestones:

• In 2016: Anuradha led a groundbreaking blue whale snorkelling expedition in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with French animal rights activists. This innovative adventure garnered widespread coverage in European newspapers and established CCT Sri Lanka as a premier provider of whale snorkelling experiences.
• In 2018: CCT Sri Lanka organized a team-building event for the French designer brand Lacoste. We provided domestic charter flights, sailing yachts, and a golfing event, which significantly boosted the team spirit of their European management team. This successful event has further established CCT Sri Lanka’s reputation as a premier choice for luxury travel to Sri Lanka.
• In 2024: we partnered with a Turkish scuba diving holiday company to offer unforgettable experiences for Turkish travelers in Sri Lanka. Our inaugural group tour was a tremendous success. We are now preparing additional ground and underwater photographic expeditions to further showcase the island’s natural wonders to our Turkish guests.
